All hell broke loose for Dimpy Ganguly when she found herself a victim of domestic violence a few weeks back. She was allegedly beaten by her husband Rahul Mahajan whom she married in March in the reality show Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega.

But now the couple is willing to take forward their relationship which is marred by controversies ever since it culminated. With the help of counseling Rahul and Dimpy are hoping to bring back the lost sparkle in their marriage.

Dimpy feels that she wants to be with Rahul. Talking about the hiccups in their marriage, she is quoted as saying, “Such times does not kill you, but makes you stronger instead. I feel strong and I feel the strength in our relationship. I have accepted it and I know that I love Rahul and want to be with him forever.”

The couple also denies the allegation that whatever happened between them was a publicity stunt to be in the limelight. Dimpy’s name is also doing the rounds as one of the participants of Bigg Boss 4.

Rahul first turned ‘Wifebeater’ when his first wife Shweta walked out from the marriage after accusing him of beating and abusing her.

Rahul Mahajan admitted to hospital

Rahul Mahajan was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai early today (August 13) after complaining of chest pains. It seems his family doctor suggested that he be admitted to the hospital after his check up. Initially, Rahul's blood pressure was also low. But doctors said later that his condition was stable and that he would be discharged after being treated.

Apparently Rahul has been upset these past weeks. It's been during this time that his wife Dimpy Ganguly accused him of domestic violence and walked out on him. She said he had kicked her, punched her, and dragged her because she refused to answer him about a late night sms she received.

Dimpy later returned back to him, and Rahul said that they were sorting out their problems. The couple have since enrolled for counselling as well.

Rahul Mahajan who was also accused of beating his first wife has apparently abused almost all the women he's been with. After Dimpy's allegations about domestic abuse, actress Payal Rohtagi has broken her silence about Rahul's violent ways. The actress who looked visibly upset with Dimpy's fate revealed that she has also been the victim of Rahul's rage. "He did hit me twice. Once he banged my head against the door. When Rahul is angry, he completely loses his mind." she revealed.

On being asked whether she had met Dimpy, the actress replied, "I don't live in the past. It's been a long time. But after hearing the news of beating I felt very bad for her, nobody should be treated like that. She is a woman, I can understand that."

The actress claims things were not fine between Rahul and his new wife Dimpy. "When I spoke out about Dimpy and Rahul in a previous interview, Dimpy denied everything and said that all was fine between her and Rahul, but the next day the news of him beating her came out. This itself speaks a lot about how much was fine between them." she said.

Rahul Mahajan’s Wife Alleges Domestic Violence

Kolkata-based model Dimpy Ganguly has walked out of her four-month-old marriage to Rahul Mahajan, son of BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, alleging domestic violence.

Dimpy had married Rahul with much fanfare on the Imagine TV reality show "Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega" in March this year.

"Rahul beat me up early on Thursday morning after waking me up to know the contents of a message that had beeped on my phone. When I asked him to go back to sleep, he flew into a rage and began hitting me. He punched, kicked and dragged me by hair," the 22-year-old model told a TV channel.

Rahul could not be reached over phone for his comments.

This is the second time that Rahul, who was also involved in a drug abuse case, has been accused of domestic violence.

His first wife Shweta Singh, who was his childhood friend, had accused him of physically abusing her. The couple got divorced in 2008 after which Rahul participated in Colors' reality show "Big Boss". He continued to be in the limelight for his closeness with co-contestants Monica Bedi and Payal Rohatgi.

Shweta was keen on getting out of marriage

Rahul Mahajan’s first wife, pilot Shweta Singh had failed to find marital bliss and filed for a divorce in a Gurgaon court barely one year after the highly publicised wedding. The divorce came through a year ago.

Gurgaon-based advocate Harish Malhotra was the lawyer for the couple at the time. Singh was keen on "getting out of the marriage in a hurry". In fact, Singh had first moved the court before the mandatory one-year separation was over.

Rahul Mahajan's plea rejected

Once again Rahul Mahajan lands in deep trouble. Delhi high court today dismissed the plea of Rahul Mahajan seeking return of his mobile phone, SIM card and other belongings seized by police following his alleged involvement in a drug abuse case in 2006.


According to Court statement these things form a part of case studies and can be given to him. Mahajan was arrested in June 5, 2006, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances act.


Recently he got married to Dimpy Ganguly in a televised Swayamvar. He had recently filed an application regarding release of his belongings.

I'm not publicity hungry: Rahul Mahajan

Rahul Mahajan's recent appearance on UTV Bindaas' Emotional Atyachar had many eyebrows raised. While some dubbed it as publicity stunt others felt the entire affair was staged. Rahul defends himself by saying, "I am not publicity hungry and I don't need to do this for the sake of publicity. I am a celebrity and we get enough media attention as it is. I got enough coverage when my father died. I don't need more publicity."

Well, what about the show being staged? "No way was it staged," says Rahul, now a little agitated. He further says, "What you saw on the show was real and that's the kind of person I am. It is not staged. There have been so many couples and other celebs who have been on this show. They were not questioned then why me?"

Being put to loyalty test by a woman he has vowed to spend his life with… that must be a tough one? Not for Mr Mahajan! He supports his wife in doing that. "I am not hurt that Dimpy did this. I came out clean and now the world knows the truth."

On the show Dimpy said that she trusts her husband and she is doing it to prove it to the world that Rahul was totally trustworthy. "I have just come out clean as Dimpy expected."

We wonder why does it matter to Mrs Mahajan as to what the world thinks about her husband? But the images of Rahul Mahajan from Bigg Boss flirting with Monica Bedi and Payal Rohatgi are still fresh. Sure Rahul can defend that too. "You only saw some clips of the pool and Krishan Lila but I was there for 92 days. They were never aired," says Rahul Mahajan.

Till the time Rahul is cool about the loyalty test, all's well in the paradise. They have just returned from Shirdi and Rahul cannot stop praising his bride. "Dimpy has gelled so well with my family. She did not take any time to fit in. She and my mom are more like friends. They go shopping together and do all kinds of fun stuff."

In the future where are Mr and Mrs Mahajan headed? "There are a lot of offers in hand right now but I can't talk about them," says Rahul. Politics or reality shows? "There is no either this or that here. Both are on the radar. But politics will happen in 2014. I will serve the people when I am ready for it," he adds. Movies? "Never say never. I don't know what may come my way. Maybe movies."

As reported, Dimpy wanted to prove everybody that Rahul will never cheat on her and that’s the reason she visited the Emotional Atyachar Team to conduct a loyalty test on him.

I can’t wait to have children: Rahul Mahajan

Rahul Mahajan, who married Bengali girl Dimpy Ganguly on a TV show, is now keen to extend his family and says he can’t wait to have children. But as a husband he feels he should wait for a while.

‘I want children. But when I give it all a thought, I feel that as a husband I must wait and it will all come with time. On the contrary, as a father, I wantchildren to come quickly. I can’t wait!’ Rahul told IANS.

Rahul, son of late Bhartiya Janata Party leader Pramod Mahajan, says he has been enjoying his life ever since he married Dimpy March 6 on Imagine TV’s reality show ‘Rahul Dulhania Le Jaayega’.

The couple registered their marriage last week.

‘We have been keeping busy making the most of our courtship period. We go for drives, shopping, night-outs, and we may plan another holiday in July. So I want work to take a backseat for two to three months to enjoy this time knowing my wife,’ said Rahul, who is currently playing host to his parents-in-law and sister-in-law.

Rahul was recently put through a loyalty test by his wife on UTV Bindass’ show on infidelity, ‘Emotional Atyachaar’. And he emerged clean. Though he didn’t mind being spied upon, he was disappointed that he failed to understand that it was all a trap.

‘I always used to think I am James Bond, very smart and alert. I always thought that I would get to know if anyone will spy upon me. But this time I was taken for a ride. I really felt bad about it. But no grudges against Dimpy,’ he said.

Rahul is happy that his wife chose to prove the world wrong about the questions people have been raising about his integrity.

‘I don’t think Dimpy did anything wrong by putting me through this. I don’t think there’s a need to question her as to why she chose to do this. After all she is my wife, not my girlfriend. Whatever she wants to do is her decision and she can do whatever she likes.’

‘I know she didn’t do it to test her trust and faith in me, so I took it very lightly and on a jovial note,’ he added.

Rahul had earlier married childhood friend Shweta Singh in 2006, but separated from her two years later.

Drug abuse case: Rahul Mahajan files marriage certificate

Rahul Mahajan, a reality TV star who faces trial in a case of alleged drug abuse and married in a television show recently, today submitted his marriage certificate in a Delhi court.

Mahajan, who was asked to file the certificate, filed it before Additional Sessions Judge JPS Malik, saying his marriage was registered in Mumbai.

Earlier, the court had released his passport to allow him to go to the Maldives for honeymoon with his wife Dimpy Ganguly for 21 days and put several conditions on him.

As per the conditions, 35-year-old Mahajan was to file the marriage certificate in the court which today fixed the matter for further hearing on June 2.

Mahajan's marriage with Ganguly, 21, was solemnised live during a TV reality show Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega on March 7.

Mahajan, son of slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, who was arrested on June 5, 2006, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, has been on bail since June 14 that year.

The trial in the drug abuse case against Mahajan and others is yet to start as the records are with the Delhi high court which is hearing various revision petitions against framing of charges under the NDPS Act.

The high court is hearing a bunch of petitions filed by Mahajan, Sahil Zaroo, Harish Sharma, personal assistant of Pramod Mahajan, challenging the framing of charges against them.

Mahajan has been accused of consuming and distributing drugs at the official residence of his slain father on the night of June two, 2006.

BJP is in my blood: Rahul Mahajan

Rahul Mahajan, son of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, today said the saffron party is in his blood and announced that he will contest the next Lok Sabha poll on the party's ticket.

"I will contest the 2014 Lok Sabha election. As BJP is in my blood, I will contest the elections in the name of this party," Mahajan, who married Soumasri (Dimpy Ganguly) on a reality TV show recently, said.

Accompanied by his wife, Mahajan collected his marriage certificate this morning from the G-South ward office.

The three witnesses that signed the marriage registration are Sameer Nair CEO, Imagine, Sazila Alana, from Sol Production and Ausuja Sayed Mohammed, Rahul's manager.

Rahul Mahajan set for a ‘Bengali’ reception

The Gangulys don’t flash a stiff family picture with the Mahajans at their daughter’s wedding. In fact, unlike the wedding paraphernalia at all Bengali weddings, they don’t have a velvet covered album of Dimpy Ganguly’s marriage with Rahul Mahajan on a TRP-grabbing television show.

“We were requested not to take pictures of the wedding. Felt a little odd, but this is not an ordinary marriage,” smiled Saibal Ganguly, an advocate at the Calcutta High Court and Dimpy’s father.

That is probably why the Ganguly family is going all out to make the wedding reception, which will be held at a city five star hotel tomorrow, a grand affair. “We plan to dress Rahul like a typical Bengali groom. We hope he doesn’t object on wearing a dhoti and a topor,” says Ganguly.

Rahul can also expect to be treated to a grand Bengali meal. “Since he is vegetarian, the spread will be somewhat limited. But we will try and compensate with a lot of Bengali sweets. In fact, Rahul has made a special demand of mishti doi and sandesh,” says Ganguly.

Newly-Wed Rahul Mahajan Returns From Honeymoon, Surrenders Passport

Rahul Mahajan, son of late Pramod Mahajan and a reality TV star who is facing trial in a case of alleged drug abuse today surrendered his passport in a Delhi court.
Rahul after returning from his honeymoon in the Maldives, filed an application through his lawyer before Additional Sessions Judge J P S Malik and surrendered his passport.

Earlier, the court had allowed 35-year-old Mahajan to travel abroad with his newly-wed wife Dimpy Ganguly, 21, with whom his marriage was solemnised live during a TV reality show 'Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega' on March 7.

Releasing the passport, the court had imposed various conditions on him, including furnishing of a fixed deposit of Rs five lakh and a personal bond of same amount. Same condition was imposed on him when he was granted bail.

Earlier, he was granted permission by the court to visit Seychelles for honeymoon between August 30, 2006 to September 11, 2006 after his first marriage to Shweta Singh, a former pilot. They got divorced on August one, 2008. Mahajan, who was arrested on June 5, 2006, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, has been on bail in the case since June 14 that year.

Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Mahajan are once again in news. After getting married on the national TV, the duo went for the honeymoon to Maldives. And now the hot news is that the 'gladrags girl', Dimpy Mahajan got her promised massage from Rahul Mahajan on the honeymoon.

Soon after Dimpy got married to Rahul, her bikni-clad photographs were flashed all over the internet but it didn't affect husband Rahul at all. Instead Rahul commented that he is very happy for his wife's popularity and does not mind seeing her steamy photographs.

Rahul says that he enjoyed every minutes (with Dimpy), far from the madding crowd. "We were isolated from the rest of the world. That helped us understand each other better. There were no cameras, nobody speculating our relationship, 24x7," he explains.

Meanwhile Dimpy admitted that as she has never been abroad before and thus the experience was breathtaking. "Everything was so beautiful, I did a full course in scuba-diving. When I sprained my back, Rahul did give me a massage," she giggled, adding that it was a great feeling, not just walking together, but even swimming jointly underwater.

Well, now the so-much lovey-dovey are back with their honeymoon and will be attending their grand reception in Kolkata on April 1.

Rahul's swayamwar was cheap

Payal Rohatagi, who came to fame after appearing in 'Bigg Boss Season 2', usually goes with a ‘no comment’ response when enquired about close friend Rahul Mahajan’s wedding on reality TV, but now the actress feels that this was a ‘cheap show’.

‘I understand reality shows are the flavour of the season, and 'Bigg Boss' got me the kind of publicity that nothing else did. But you have to have limits to how far you can go to get what you want.’

Payal adds further, “This swayamvar on television looks like a very desperate bid to get money and fame.”

Payal Rohtagi was approached to participate in another reality show that was being made on the backdrop of village, to which she agreed but backed out later as she wanted to grow as a film actor.

Payal gets back on the swayamwar show and apparently asks, “The next reality show on TV will be what? A honeymoon or a child’s delivery?”

Rahul Mahajan, the handsome hunk who married Somashree(Dimpy) Ganguly on NDTV Imagine’s show ‘Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega’ amidst glitter and glory, has been permitted by the court to go to Maldives for his honeymoon but that should not be part of tamasha television.

Before releasing Rahul Mahajan’s passport for the period between March 9 and 31, the court asked Rahul to furnish a bond of Rs 5 lakhs that the marriage was genuine and not the extension of reality show in foreign land. The scion of Mahajan family also gave in writing that he and Dimpy Ganguly were husband -wife and there was no question of doing it for any television show.

It may be recalled that Rahul Mahajan was involved in drugs use case in year 2006 and since then his passport has been lying with the court. He is required to take prior permission before leaving the country for any foreign tour. The additional sessions judge, Mr. PS Malik, especially asked Rahul to keep his honeymoon not only private affair but also submit in the court the registration certificate of marriage within a week of completing formalities. In case of violation of any condition, the guarantee amount of Rs 5 lakhs will not be returned.

In the meantime, Rahul Mahajan’s reality show ‘Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega’ has come under severe criticism from film maker Ashwni Dhir. The ace filmmaker slammed the show for commoditizing girls on the show, especially during the dancing episode when all the three finalists—Nikunj, Dimpy and Harpreet—were required to dance before Rahul.

Sources say that Dhir is not stopping at that and is likely to make a film on the subject of absurdness of television reality shows. After Rahul Mahajan’s show, Dhir has become only more determined to expose the reality behind these so called reality shows.

In the meantime, Rahul Mahajan has asked others to stop criticizing Dimpy Ganguly for her wayward ways as she had become his wife now. In fact, Rahul urged media to leave his wife alone and not drag her in any controversy related to her past life.

Rahul Mahajan gets back passport

Rahul Mahajan, who got married in a TV programme, was on Tuesday allowed by a Delhi court to get back his passport for going to the Maldives for honeymoon.

Outside the courtroom, Mahajan said, "I am very happy with the outcome. I just want to pack my bags and leave."

The court, however, made it clear the relief would not be used as an extension of the show, including shootings by him.

"Mahajan shall give an undertaking that his visit shall be a private visit and in no way extension of the show... there shall be no shooting done at Maldives between March nine and 31," the court said.

He was also asked by Additional Sessions Judge J P S Malik to give an affidavit that his marriage contracted on March six was a bonafide and not for purpose of the TV show.

As the conditions for release of his passport, the court directed Mahajan, son of slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan to get his marriage registered under the provisions of the Hindu Marriage Act within two months, apart from depositing Rs five lakh each as fixed deposit and a personal bond immediately.

Mahajan, 35, got married on Saturday to 21-year-old Dimpy Ganguly, a model and dancer, during the TV reality show 'Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega'.

During arguments, prosecutor Ahmed Khan opposed Mahajan's plea saying the kind of reality show in which he participated and contracted the marriage should not be encouraged as they leave a bad impression on the mind of young viewers.

Reality TV star Rahul Mahajan will leave with his dulhaniya Dimpy Ganguly on a honeymoon to Maldives, with a legal nod, unlike his predecessor Rakhi Sawant, whose much-hyped swayamvar ended in an anti-climax!

A local court on Tuesday granted Mahajan, son of Bharatiya Janata Party leader, the late Pramod Mahajan, permission to go to the Maldives and Ireland for his honeymoon from March 9 to 30, while releasing his passport against a surety and a personal bond of Rs5 lakh each. Mahajan was told to submit his marriage certificate to the court within two months.

Additional sessions judge JPS Malik, who cleared Mahajan’s plea, directed him to submit an undertaking that he would not indulge in shooting during his honeymoon.

Mahajan’s passport had been deposited in court when he was granted bail in a drug abuse case in 2006. In August 2006, Mahajan had been granted permission to visit Seychelles on a honeymoon with his first wife, Shweta Singh, a pilot. Two years later, in August, Mahajan and Singh filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

The case against Mahajan, under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act had been filed on June 5, 2006. But the trial is yet to begin as records in the case are with the Delhi high court, which is hearing various revision petitions against framing of charges under the NDPS Act.

Mahajan and his father’s secretary, Vivek Moitra, were admitted to the capital’s Apollo Hospital on June 2, 2006, after they allegedly consumed contraband drugs laced with alcohol at Pramod Mahajan’s then official residence at 7, Safdarjung Road. Moitra died in hospital soon after.

Though Mahajan had been let off on drug trafficking charges, he had been booked for consumption of banned drugs.

For Rahul doesn’t come with a squeaky clean reputation: he talks to aliens, was allegedly a wife beater and was found in a bathtub, after an alleged drug overdose.

Yet, mysteriously, he seemed like great marriage material to besotted young girls (or they put up a very good act, at any rate). Nikunj Mallik, one of the three finalists, decided to stop looking at him through rose-tinted glasses and is now rather vocal about her dislike. She says, “I feel Dimpy is perfect for Rahul as both have similar habits and lifestyles, which is not very acceptable to me. Though Rahul was quite interested in me, which was quite evident, I realised he’s not the kind of person I’d like to spend my life with.”

A man never changes his spots, darling, so what possessed her to go for someone like Rahul? She says, “For the past two years, there has been no negative publicity about him. When at 35, a man wants to settle down and have a family, that worked for me. He is a nice man, but it’s obvious there is no visible improvement. It was the drinking, smoking and Casanova nature that bothered me.” Was there any drinking and misbehaving? She replies, “Was he drunk in the evenings? You can say that. But even when super drunk, he never misbehaved.”

And the drugs? She pauses and says, “I have not seen him taking drugs, so I would not like to comment on that.”

Cynics would say that it sounds like a case of sour grapes, but she says, “I would’ve appreciated if he’d chosen Harpreet, who is very well behaved as compared to Dimpy. Dimpy is an antisocial element, who runs away from her house at every given opportunity, she ran away from the beauty contest. She gets drunk, sloshed and wasted.”

What about the fact that he kept touching women constantly? She says primly, “In our society, hugging and pecking on the cheek is acceptable. I always maintained my dignity and made him stay within his limits. If you let him do that, he will do it.”

So, did Dimply ‘let’ him? Pat comes the reply, “Obviously yes, in fact, she forced him. She attracted him and wanted him to do all that.”

Nikunj’s parents also did not approve of the prospective son-in-law. She says, “They verbally bashed him and said don’t bother my daughter with your behaviour.” After the home visit, Nikunj had hinted to Rahul that the marriage wouldn’t work.

After the show, what future is she looking forward to? She says, “I was there for the marriage, not the publicity. It has come my way wantingly or not wantingly (sic) and I will take up opportunities. I would not want to waste my qualification as a designer.”

Will the marriage last, in her opinion? With great disdain she concludes, “I hope it does. If you would’ve taken a national poll, Dimpy’s percentage of votes would have been few. He’s narrowed down his future as a politician by choosing her as his wife.”

Rahul Mahajan, who became a familiar name in Indian households with his antics on reality show, Bigg Boss on Colors, may not have exactly set television ratings on fire; but has definitely helped Imagine get a head start.

The final episode, which saw Rahul Mahajan end his bride hunt and tie the knot with Dimpy Ganguly, had more than 1.42 crore viewers (C&S, 4+, NWE) tuning in on March 6, Saturday, as per aMap. The show recorded an average TVR of 4 and ran for three hours and 15 minutes.

Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega was the most watched property on television in that time band. Zee TV managed to garner a TVR of 2.1 cumulatively with its shows, Yahan Mein Ghar Ghar Kheli and Dance India Dance. Colors' shows, National Bingo Night and Uttaran fetched the channel a TVR of 1.4 during the same time band.

Because of the controversy in the previous season, about the actual wedding, or the absence thereof, between Rakhi Sawant and the chosen bridegroom, there was disappointment among the viewers. This time however, the channel had assured the viewers, through its promotions, that it would be different. "The reality element of the show has diminished and viewers are clearly watching it because of the 'masala' factor," observes Atrayee Chakraborty, director, planning sciences, Lintas Media Group.

Rakhi Ka Swayamvar, which was telecast in the middle of last year, propelled Imagine's GRPs and became the highest grosser on the channel. The finale of the show recorded an average TVR of 6.3. It even beat shows such as Sach Ka Saamna and Dance India Dance last year.

Nikhil Madhok, vice-president, marketing, communication and brand management, Imagine, believes that the concept has generated massive buzz. Because the novelty factor was lower this time, the channel had a different programming strategy.

Unlike the last season, the show was aired six times a week instead of five times; besides, there were repeat telecasts. "We had the main telecast at 8 pm for the smaller towns and a repeat at 11 pm for the metro audiences. This dual slotting helped us achieve high cumulative viewership, more than what we got for the first season," Madhok claims.

The viewership analysis by aMap shows that after its launch, the show failed to retain interest. It picked up in between, only to dip again, but gathered interest towards the end. The show garnered a TVR of 2.4 on the launch date. On the final day, it fetched Imagine 40 GRPs, double that of launch day.

Having tasted success second time round, the channel is tempted to have a third season of the show.

Maureen Wadia reportedly sent a show cause notice to Dimpy Ganguly

One of the finalists on Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega, for breaking a contract with her and taking part in a reality show.

In her letter, which Imagine TV says they received on February 22, Wadia says that the girl kept both her and the channel in the dark about the contract and the show. The reports quoted the channel as acknowledging receipt of the letter, but expressing surprise that it came just a few days before the show’s finale.

Meanwhile, Rahul Mahajan moved court on Friday to get his passport back for his honeymoon getaway to Maldives and Ireland. The passport is under court custody since his involvement in a drug abuse case in 2006. As per the orders, he cannot leave the country without the court’s permission.

Politicians not paid enough, Says Rahul Mahajan

Rahul Mahajan, who tied the knot with Bengali model Dimpy Ganguly on a reality show, Sunday said he plans to make a career in entertainment as he feels politicians do not earn enough.

“Whatever comes my way, I will do that, be it film, serial or a reality show. You have to do something for a good living. Politics is not a business. MP, MLA salary is not enough to buy proper clothes also. We would not get a sponsor every time, like the show (Imagine TV’s ‘Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega’),” Rahul told IANS.

However, Rahul, who is the son of the slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, did not rule out the possibility of entering the domain of politics.

“Politics was never away I think, but I will be into this profession (entertainment) to earn by bread and butter…I am trying to settle down. Till the next general election, one has to work at the grassroot level. If people decide to have me as a leader, it’s their choice, I don’t want to be appointed from behind,” he said.

Rahul, who is facing trial in a Delhi court in a drug abuse case, is planning to go to Maldives for his honeymoon. He is hoping that his passport will be released and he is given the permission to leave the country so he can go on his honeymoon.

Asked if he is sure to get the passport back, he said: “I am going to Delhi Monday. I can just hope to get it back along with the permission. I can just pray.”

Rahul doesn’t want to fret about his past or brood over his future, rather he wants to live his present to the fullest.

“Everyone gets a second chance. Through this show, god has given me a second chance. It’s a new beginning; it’s like a rebirth on March 6. We (he and Dimpy) share our birthdays - July 25,” he said.

After reality show “Rakhi Sawant Ka Swayamvar,” people had an impression that Rahul’s show too would end up with his engagement, but he was confident to end it with marriage.

“Initially there was no ‘muhurat’. The first ‘muhurat’ was in March. So there was a gap. I didn’t want to get engaged, I wanted to get married. I postponed the shoot, so that I could get married March 6,” said Rahul.

Asked why his sister Poonam Mahajan didn’t attend his marriage, Rahul said: “Poonam’s best wishes are with me. I will visit her soon. She didn’t come because she is a politician and the programme was on a television channel.”

Dimpy ganguly wants Rahul Mahajan to enter politics

Rahul Mahajan's newlywed wife Dimpy Ganguly, whom he married on a highly watched and much talked about reality show, wants her husband to pursue a political career like his father, late Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Pramod Mahajan, rather than be in show business.

"I really want him (Rahul) to pursue a political career," Dimpy told reporters in Mumbai on Saturday night after exchanging wedding vows with Rahul on Imagine TV's Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega.

To this, 35-year-old Rahul said: "I'll first manage my home and once that is settled, I'll manage the country."

Rahul has earlier participated in reality show "Bigg Boss" too.

Dimpy, 21, is a model and actress by profession. She piped other finalists Nikunj Malik, 25 and Harpreet, 21, apart from over 16,500 applicants from across the country to be Rahul's wife. And the Bengali lass says she will continue to work after marriage as well.

"Rahul doesn't want me to be a housewife. So I'll work. But I don't know yet what I will be doing," said Dimpy, who was sporting a red wedding outfit designed by Neeta Lulla, the traditional 'mangal sutra' in her neck and vermillion on her forehead.

Rahul had vowed to marry a girl on national TV and he kept his promise by doing so with the Kolkata-based girl, despite the recent death of his uncle Praveen Mahajan, who was convicted for killing his politician father Pramod Mahajan in 2006.

The duo will be registering their marriage on Tuesday in Bandra, Mumbai.

Rahul said he had committed that he will get married on show on March 6 and had done accordingly.

To a question on his political future, he said he plans to enter politics after settling down in his personal life.

Sambhavana Seth (Dancer): Seth commits that she has known already that the remaining three deserve for Rahul Mahajan in the show ‘Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega’. She says the three ultimate contestants are very wise and good natured but Dimpy Ganguly will become his life partner as they both are associates. Shaleen (Actor): Shaleen thinks that all are very cute and does not have the similarity from each other. They have optimistic and pessimistic points. Shaleen also commits that Rahul Mahajan will get married Dimpy Ganguly as both are of friendly nature a will allocate a good chemistry.

Shubangi Atre (Actor): shubangi says that she thinks in the reality show ‘Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega’ Rahul will choose Harpreet as she is cute and gorgeous attachment with her. Harpreet is a full and complete package of attractiveness and common sense.

Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega - ‘Sangeeth Ceremony’

Rahul Mahajan’s ‘Sangeeth Ceremony’ was a delight to witness as it had a full dose of entertainment, along with some witty nok–jhonk among Rahul’s ‘brothers’ Ashutosh Kaushik and Zulfi Sayed, and ‘sister’ Sambhavna Sheth.

The show had its usual opening with anchor Ram Kapoor welcoming the special guests in a blink and miss appearance. Firstly, he welcomed Big Boss winner Ashutosh Kaushik, and contestant Zulfi Sayed as the brothers of Rahul. Both were looking suave in the Indian traditional outfits and got along very well with the Rahul’s brides with some witty jokes. Next came item girl Sambhavna Sheth, looking gorgeous in a red back less lehnga choli, who greeted the brides and their respective families.

How it could be possible to not have nach gana at the Sangeeth ceremony… Ashutosh and Zulfi were the first to hit the dance floor with a rocking number, Dhan Tanan, from the film Kaminey. Although their performance was a bit shaky, the audience and Rahul seemed to enjoy it, and the missing charm was filled in by Sambhavna with her dazzling performance on Yash Raj’s hit number from Aaja Nachley among others, which left everyone speechless.

Others to join the dance floor were Nach Baliye pairs Aamir Ali & Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Shaleen Bhanot & Daljeet Kaur, who did solo dance performances as well as a jugal bandi number which rocked the house, eventually getting even the prospective brides to shake a leg.

However, amidst all the performances, the ones that Rahul was most eager to see were from his ladies. First to dance was fashion designer Nikunj Malik from Faridabad. She was nervous before the performance but ended up giving quite a spectacular performance on the song ‘Mere Hathon Mein Nau Nau Chudiyaan Hain’. Rahul liked her performance so much that he couldn’t stop himself from hugging her. The next performance came from model/actress Dimpy Ganguly from Kolkata, who thought she had impressed Rahul with her moves, which she executed brilliantly on the classic song ‘Piya Tose Naina Laage’, but then was left high and dry as Rahul didn’t hug her. Last, but not least, was model/anchor Harpeet Chhabara, who re-created the magic of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham with the song ‘Le Jaa Le Jaa’.

All the brides earned praises from Rahul. To add to the festivities, there were performances by Sachin Pilgoankar and Saroj Khan. After all these special performances, it was time for a treat for the all the brides as Rahul himself came to the floor to show if he could match up to the ladies. Shedding all his inhibition, he joined star kids Saloni & Dhairya on the rocking number Pappu Cant Dance Saala, which turned out to be the funniest performance as Rahul didn’t know how to dance. But ultimately, Rahul did his best and his ladies appreciated it more than anything else.

Once all the excitement was over, it was time to leave Rahul Mahajan to prepare himself for his big day, and one after another all the guests said good bye to Rahul. Anxious and nervous, Rahul said that he is all geared up and ready for the biggest day of his life. He also declared that he has already chosen the girl who will become his bride, but refused to reveal the name, saying that he will only announce it tomorrow at the finale.

The stage is set for Rahul Mahajan's wedding. Out of the three finalists - Nikunj Malik, Dimpy Ganguly and Harpreet Chhabra - he will chose one as his life partner on the reality show Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega on NDTV Imagine Saturday.

After edging past 14 prospective brides Nikunj, Dimpy and Harpreet have become the top three contenders vying to become Rahul's wife. They have done their bit to impress Rahul - they have cooked him a meal, wooed him with love letters and taken care of kids.

Now the entire nation is eagerly waiting for Rahul's decision that he will take Saturday and it will be telecast live on the channel from 9 pm onwards.

All the three girls are a little tense but excited.

"For some strange reason, I am not nervous but very excited. I am just finalizing my outfit for my Big Day. I am hoping I am lucky enough to be Rahul's bride," said Nikunj.

Dimpy is experiencing mixed feelings.

"I am very excited yet nervous at the same time. I am really looking forward to 6th March," she said.

Harpreet too is nervous and says "apart from marrying Rahul, great responsibilities too will come along. I hope Rahul's decision is in my favour."

The wedding will take place in a luxurious suburban hotel in Mumbai where the who's who of society will grace the occasion to shower their blessings on the couple.

Ace designers Vikram Phadnis, Neeta Lulla and Ashley Rebello will dress up Rahul's brides-to-be.

Rahul plans to go to Maldives and Ireland for his honeymoon, if a court which is holding his passport allows him to do so. He is facing charges of using prohibited drugs.
